About

The general objective of the project is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between 7 European cities (Cartagena, Cluj, Dietzenbach, Linkoping, Lublin, Ravenna, Riga) by creating a European Pact that would foster Integration of migrants at local level. This is achieved through the development of efficient Strategies addressing one or more of the following issues in each city: inclusion, housing, access to basic services, including health services, cultural exchanges, integration into the labour market.

Strategies were co-designed and implemented by cities with the help of an extensive Technical Support Mechanism, either from the project partners or from external experts who were involved in specific actions (interpretation of the Intercultural Review results, definition and implementation of City Integration Strategies).

As main outcome, partner cities will be better equipped to deal with challenges posed by weak integration policies and measures together with an increase in migration flows, thanks to the validation of pilot strategies that will be incorporated in long-term action plans at the end of the project.

At a wider scale, the consolidation of the European Pact for Integration, established by project partners (cities and technical partners), and extended also to other cities and NGOs, will help to facilitate exchange of best practices and experiences among European local authorities, starting from the upscaling of the methods used in the project (e.g. Intercultural Review, Policy Design Process, Pilot Strategies).
